For this reproduction Sperati used genuine stamp paper with design decolored. All cancels are forged. Illustrated on the mounted page below are two genuine 6d stamps that Sperati used as models for two of his forged cancellations.

1. there is a prominent white dot under the "C" of CAPE" at bottom

2. there is a small colored nick in white space below "AP" of "CAPE"

3. the top horizontal line of shading has a break below the "P" of "CAPE"
