Sperati made reproductions of the 1865 issue ½real in two types, the 1865 issue 1 real in three varieties and one type of the 1905 issue 1 peso. Everything about them was made by Sperati. Sperati I reports mentions die proofs but that no finished reproductions had been seen. Sperati II mentions the example below and one other type.

1.none of the outer frame lines meet

2. the right frame line is bent outward at the top, is broken above the "CO" of "CORREOS" and it extends below

3. in "Un real" the "n" is split in two and there is a break in the right leg

4. the "e" is a "c"

(black proofs known to have been made, however, Sperati I reports no examples have been seen)

(Sperati 1 reported that no reproductions had been seen, however, Sperati II reported the example at left on horizontal laid paper)

1. the shading lines in the four quadrants are broken in the original but more broken in the forgery

2. the "R" and the "l" are lower than the "ea" of "Real"

1. the "E" of "PESO" is broken at t h e foot.

2. there are flaws in the black background over the top of "B" and under the left lower serif of the same letter in "REPUBLICA"

3.. the lower right serif of the "I" is extended and there is a white spot under the left leg of the "A"

4. the small " O " to the lower left of the "D" of "DOMINICANA" has an extension that makes it look like a "Q"
